Indian Lemonade - Nimbu Pani

Nimbu Pani is basically a refreshing thirst-quenching summer drink . It hydrates and balances the salts in your body. It is prepared with lime/lemon, water, salt and sugar. This lemonade gives instant energy and hydrates the body. It is a good source of Vitamin C and flushes out toxins from body. One can safely call it a magic drink for dehydration.

Ingredients
  

For sugar syrup

  • ¼ cup water
  • ¼ cup sugar

For one glass of Lemonade

  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tbsp sugar syrup
  • ¼ tsp rock salt/black salt
  • ¼ tsp table salt
  • ¼ tsp chaat masala powder
  • Chilled water
  • Lime/lemon slices

Instructions
 

Sugar syrup

  • Heat sugar and water in a pan.
  • Let it come to a boil and let the sugar melt.
  • Switch off flame and set aside to cool.

How to proceed for making lemonade

  • To a serving glass, add tablespoon of lime juice followed by some sugar syrup.
  • Then add black salt, chaat masala and table salt.
  • Now add some ice cubes or chilled water. Stir well.
  • Garnish with mint leaves and lime slices.
  • Enjoy this drink and rejuvenate yourself.

Notes

  • Serve chilled drink.
  • Have this refreshing drink during the midday hours of sweltering summers to combat the heat.
  • Adjust the spice level as per individual palate taste.
  • To make mojito, you can replace adding water with soda water.
  • You may omit the sugar syrup.
