Til Ki Burfi | Sesame Seeds Sweet

Til ki burfi is a traditional Indian sweet made from sesame seeds. This til ki burfi recipe is prepared from sesame seeds, milk powder and sugar. It makes a perfect sweet or dessert for any festival or special occasion. Til burfi is ideal in winters. More so it is also associated with the Makar Sakranti festival.

1 cup milk powder 1 cup sugar ½ cup milk 1 cup sesame seeds 4 tbsp butter 1 tsp cardamom powder A few chopped nuts
Lightly roast the sesame seeds.
In a pan melt butter.
Add milk and milk powder.
Stir continuously to avoid formation of lumps.
After some time add sugar also.
Lightly blitz half quantity of roasted seeds. The remaining quantity keep them whole.
Once sugar has melted and the mixture has slightly thickened, add the ground and whole sesame seeds.
After some time, the mixture starts leaving the sides of the pan.
In the meanwhile, grease a plate.
Spread the mixture in the plate.
Garnish with chopped pistachios.
Let it set for at least 2 hours and then cut into required shapes.
Keep the flame low to medium while roasting sesame seeds.
Cut the burfi only when it has set properly so as to get neat pieces.
