Baking this Swiss Roll inevitably, led me on journey down the memory lane. As the academic year began, returning to boarding school after summer break, was emotionally painful for me , for the first two days, till we would sink back into routine. I am thankful to my mom, who would pack home made teacakes and other goodies for me. During those initial moments at the hostel, these wonderfully baked cake treats by my mom were a solace to my home sickness.
Now, I would love to bake for my mom, just as she lovingly did for me. It has been ages since I have baked specifically for her since we live countries apart. I am sure, she would love this roll cake for its softness and bit of cream.
