What is Nimbu Pani
Nimbu Pani is basically a refreshing thirst-quenching summer drink . It hydrates and balances the salts in your body. It is prepared with lime/lemon, water, salt and sugar. This lemonade gives instant energy and hydrates the body. It is a good source of Vitamin C and flushes out toxins from body. One can safely call it a magic drink for dehydration.
Ingredients for Shikanji

- Lime juice – Use juicy lime. Common varieties are Indian lime, Brazilian lime. Even lemons could be used. Aids in maintaining electrolyte balance in body.
- Sugar syrup – This is the sweetening agent that can be made at home. Optionally you could use ground sugar as sweetener, jaggery, maple syrup or honey.
- Rock salt/black salt – Aids in digestion and electrolyte balance.
- Table salt
- Chaat masala powder – Is a tangy sour powder formed from salts and spice powders.
- Chilled water – Can add ice also
- Garnish – mint leaves, lime slices

How to make Indian Lemonade, Nimbu Pani
with step by step instructions
Sugar syrup
Heat sugar and water in a pan.
Let it come to a boil and let the sugar melt.
Switch off flame and set aside to cool.
How to proceed for making lemonade
To a serving glass, add tablespoon of lime juice followed by some sugar syrup.
Then add black salt, chaat masala and table salt.
Now add some ice cubes or chilled water. Stir well.
Garnish with mint leaves and lime slices.
Enjoy this drink and rejuvenate yourself.
How to serve Nimbu Pani
Serve chilled Nimbu Pani in glasses.
Serve Nimbu Pani as a welcome drink.

Neembu pani is a perfect summer drink. I love the minty flavoured one with some roasted cumin powder added to it as I am not a great fan of chaat masala. Good suggestion of adding maple syrup instead of sugar.
