Chicken Lollipops is an irresistible dish to refrain from when dining out. No logic or reasoning can stop you from ravishing this recipe. So many variations of this Chicken Lollipops recipe are seen worldwide. Here I have chosen to keep it the Desi Tandoori style. Chicken lollipops are mostly made from the wings portion where the flesh is pushed down to one end to make it resemble a lollipop. Chicken lollipops have a crispy texture and are tender inside because of the marination. Nowadays frenched chicken lollipops are available. Mix spices of your choice for marination and add some cornflour and fry these lollipops.

Ingredients:

  • FOR MARINATION: 6 pieces of chicken wings cut and prepared for lollipops (yields 12 lollipops)
  • 1 level teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon fennel powder 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 1 tablespoon of lime juice
  • 1/2 tablespoon hung curd
  • Pinch of Tandoori food colour
  • Cornflour for coating
  • Oil for deep frying

Method:

  1. Mix all the ingredients for marination and marinade the chicken lollipops for at least half an hour.
  2. Heat the oil in a skillet and meanwhile dab each lollipop with cornflour or mix around 1 to 2 tablespoons of cornflour in the marinated chicken
  3. When the oil is hot enough, fry the lollipops a few at a time.
  4. Fry on medium flame so that the lollipops are cooked well.
  5. Drain on an absorbent paper and serve hot with chutney or sauce of your choice

Tips:

Do not fry the lollipops on high flame.  For a healthier option, you could roast these lollipops. Additionally,  you could further toss the chicken lollipops with some garlic ginger and soya sauce and sweet chilli sauce for some tanginess.|
